The Pu Luong Nature Reserve is an area of outstanding beauty, culture and biodiversity. Stretching from Mai Chau in the North West to Cuc Phuong National Park in the south east. The region is blessed with rich forest, limestone panoramas, magnificent rice terraces and breathtaking scenery. On this trip you can experience the everyday life and culture of Thai and Muong people and stay in scenic villages with traditional homestay accommodation.
Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau – Pu Luong, trek to Sai and Hang villages
Pick up from your hotel in Hanoi at 8 am, transfer to Mai Chau. we drive a safe route with spectacular views around every bend. Upon arrival to Lac village in Mai Chau, we will take a short walk to visit the ethnic Thai people, then have lunch in here. After lunch, we leave Mai Chau for a short ride along the Ma river to Sai village.
Off the bus and off the beaten path, we begin our trek to Duom and Hang villages. For 3 hours we will trek through outstanding mountain scenery and picturesque rice paddies, see bamboo water mill, and talk with the lovely local people, enjoy their hospitality and get to know culture. Overnight in a local Thai family's traditional stilt house.. (L/D)
Day 2: Pu Luong (Hang village) - Kho Muong villages.(6 hours)
Strolling around Hang village before we start trekking. Today we will trek for approximately six hours with some steep climbs, stream crossings. Enjoying the beautiful views of valley, rice terraces. Picnic lunch on the way at Eo Ken village.Along the way we pass hrough several Thai villages and hamlets before arriving at the village of Kho Muong. Overnight in Kho Muong village.(B/L/D)
Day 3: Pu Luong( Kho Muong), trek to Hin village. (5 hours)
This morning we set out from Kha and trek for roughly three hours on an uphill gradient through a picturesque forest passing several villages along the way. We stop for lunch in the village of Nua before setting off again for a further two hours, this time the trail is predominately downhill. Our final destination for today is Hin village, another Thai community. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Pu Luong, walk to La Han bridge (1, 5 hours ), Back to Hanoi
Today after breakfast, we say goodbye to friendly people in Hin village, take a trek to La Han bridge ( motorcycles to La Han bridge is optional) where our waiting car will pick us up for transfer back to Hanoi.End of services. (B/L)
